Marcelo Messias (born November 9, 1981 in Paranaguá) is a Brazilian-Salvadoran football defender, who currently plays for Deportivo Petapa in the Guatemala Professional Football League.

Messias was called-up to train with the El Salvador national football team preliminary squad on 2011, which would take part in two friendly matches on March 2011.[1] Messias was able to be noticed and would take part in the first friendly of that month against Cuba and Jamaica. Messias came on as a substitute in a friendly match against Cuba and started against Jamaica.
Messias is married to a Salvadoran woman and he has two daughters. He decided to become a Salvadoran citizen.
